The Team
…is primarily made up of Liz Kistner and Friderike Seithel. Both of us have been working for over 25 years in Hamburg and across Germany as concept developers, project designers, and consultants in the fields of Global Learning and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). With globalgoals.hamburg, we bring together our diverse professional experiences and perspectives.
Liz Kistner: Professionally and personally, Global Learning has become the common thread that connects my South African roots and life story with challenges in Germany. I spent 12 years working as a consultant and project coordinator at Open School 21 and later served as a specialist promoter for Global Learning in Hamburg, focusing on concept and project development, advisory services, and moderation in this field.
Friderike Seithel: My path, from studying ethnology and an interest in indigenous cultures, led me through development education to Global Learning and Education for Sustainable Development. Since the late 1990s, I have designed and led educational and cultural projects on sustainability topics in Hamburg, including Open School 21, hamburg mal fair, the school photo competitions “Guck ma” and “Fotoklima”, as well as the educational program “CREACTIV for Climate Justice” of the KinderKulturKarawane.
Ulrike Sommer: Since 2019, she has advised the team in developing the mural designs, bringing her professional expertise in graphics, design, and visual communication to translate artistic ideas into the mural banners and to create materials for public relations.
Depending on the topic and its intended design, we also collaborate with various partners and project organizers who provide us with content knowledge, artistic expertise, or technical know-how, and support us organizationally.
